I was honored to be selected to serve on the Whatcom County Superior Court bench in 2024 and without election opposition, I will continue to serve in this position at least for the remainder of my four-year term. Serving our community is an honor and a privilege.
My job as a Superior Court judge is to preside over criminal and civil cases, including cases involving both jury and bench trials, child welfare, family law, and felony criminal charges.
I believe in treating everyone who comes before our Court with compassion and respect. I work hard to make our courts and justice system better.
The work of a judge is not just done in courtrooms. I collaborate with my colleagues and court administration to improve our justice system and our court. I will continue to work with our Whatcom County elected officials and community leaders to address issues our court faces, including an increasing number of self-represented litigants.
Prior to taking the bench, I ran my own law firm with an emphasis in family law. As a former small business owner, I am not afraid to roll up my sleeves and problem-solve issues our court and community faces. My experience in family law has been an important addition to the Superior Court, which hears a significant number of family law cases.
I am also a leader in our community.
I serve as a board member of the Whatcom Community College Foundation and am an active member and immediate Past President of Bellingham Sunrise Rotary. In the past, I have served as president of both the Whatcom County Bar Association and the Whatcom Chapter of Washington Women Lawyers.
I care deeply about the people of Whatcom County.
This is my community, and I love this place and its people. I look forward to continuing my service here as a Superior Court judge.
